P&C Construction Partners with the Woodburn Fire District to Benefit Area Families through Love Santa
The Woodburn Fire District’s favorite annual event to support Love Santa Inc. received a boost this year through a partnership with P&C Construction, the general contractor for the district’s new fire station in Gervais. Together, they have helped make a difference for local families during the holiday season. Love Santa Inc. is a community organization dedicated to making a difference by providing food boxes and gifts for children, ensuring a brighter Christmas for those in need.
On Saturday, December 7th, eight members of P&C Construction volunteered their time alongside Woodburn Fire District firefighters to raise money for Love Santa. Their combined efforts collected an impressive $4,762 in donations from area residents, which went towards supporting local families.
On Tuesday, December 17th, members of P&C Construction once again stepped up, volunteering their time to wrap presents for Love Santa recipients.
The combined efforts of two organizations helped to reach Love Santa’s goals of ensuring that over 500 families receive food boxes and presents for their children this Christmas.
Rick McMurry, a partner at P&C Construction, shared the company’s commitment to service: “It is the heart of P&C Construction to give back to the communities where our projects are located. Once we are awarded a project, we want to be physically present and make a difference serving the areas where we work.” P&C Construction, established in 1961, with facilities Canby, Oregon, has deep ties to the Mid-Willamette Valley, and is currently also working on building projects in Molalla and Mt. Angel. The company expressed gratitude for the opportunity to make a real difference in Woodburn.
P&C Construction anticipates completing the Woodburn Fire District’s new station in Gervais, in the fall of 2025. The station is located just north of Gervais on Butteville Rd. This location will help enhance response times for fires and medical emergencies in Gervais and the rapidly growing southwest corner of Woodburn.
The new station project, funded by a voter-approved bond in 2021, represents a significant investment in the community’s safety and well-being. Bond funds can only be used for capital expenses such as the station build in Gervais, improvements of existing stations, and the replacement of emergency response vehicles.
