Woodburn Fire District personnel host a number of community and district events and activities each year, meant to educate residents who live within the service area.

Each Fall, the district organizes an Open House. Families are invited to visit the station and tour a multitude of informational "booths", sponsored by many Woodburn-area emergency response and public safety agencies.

Later in December, local firefighters partner with Boy Scouts to collect food for Christmas gift boxes that are delivered to families in need. The 2003 food drive produced 8,000 pounds of non-perishable goods for 175 Woodburn families.

During the Spring of each year, Woodburn Fire District again partners with local emergency response agencies, public safety agencies and the Woodburn Wal-Mart to host Safe Kids Day. This event features a bike rodeo and free bike helmet give-away for every child who attends. The purpose is to prepare children to safely respond to potential scenarios they may encounter while riding their bikes within the community.

Finally, the WRFPD celebrates the contributions of its own each year at the district annual awards dinner. Held in February, the dinner provides time for all staff members, volunteers, interns and their families to socialize, in addition to honoring those who have made outstanding contributions to the organization.
